A creative education project called “Life Beyond,” is taking place. Here, prisoners take part in learning activities themed around space exploration. In addition, they learn about life on Mars.
Inmates are encouraged to use imagination and creativity through tasks like designing space habitats, writing, and exploring philosophical questions about human life in extreme environments.
It highlights a collaboration between educators, scientists, and prison learning providers to deliver the programme through secure in-cell digital learning platforms. The project also helps prisoners develop confidence, new skills, and different ways of thinking about their future beyond prison.
