This article reflects on the progress made during the first year of the Prisoners’ Education Trust (PET) 2022–2026 five-year strategy. It explains how PET has been working to expand access to education in prisons, with a stronger focus on reaching more learners, improving course completion, and making better use of digital tools.
It highlights early developments such as increased engagement with people in prison, continued funding of distance learning courses, and efforts to strengthen support so learners can succeed in their studies.
