This Minutehack interview focuses on James Tweed and his company Coracle, which provides secure, offline laptops to prisoners in England and Wales to help address the growing digital skills gap.
Coracle is one of the few organisations authorised by the UK Ministry of Justice to provide computers to prisoners. At the time of the interview, it had nearly 1,000 laptops deployed across about 50 prisons. The laptops are pre-loaded via Coracle’s Virtual Learning Environment with education content from partners including The Open University, Prison Education Trust, Shannon Trust, Aim Awards and DWRM.
